Help me out here, can't do the maths in my head, need a definitive answer asap

Current wheels are;

Front - 8x18 et 34
Rear - 10x18 et 38

Potential new wheels are

Front 8.5x18 et 11
Rear 10x18 et 17

Where will the new ones sit in comparison to the old ones?

The rear ones being 18x ej10 at et17 will sit quite far out not sure if they will fit under standard fenders?

Im sure the rears will sit 21mm further out, which should just be ok, maybe. Possibly.

It's the front I can't work out easily

Robin, the fronts will sit 17mm further from the inner arches, but extend 29mm further out than the current ones.

The rears are simply 21mm further out than they were before, as if you'd used a 21mm spacer.

Fronts are 23mm further out plus whatever you work the wheel width out to be?

Well an inch is 25.4mm so by that I work out the fronts to be 35.7mm further out?

It's half of the half inch of additional girth lads, so it's 23mm plus 1/4 inch, or ~29mm

Not quite, the wheel is 1/2 inch wider, so it'll actually be 1/4 inch + 23mm.

1/4 inch = 6.35 mm, so technically 29.35mm further out, hence why I put 29mm.

the offset will be taken to centre of the wheel, so the 1/2 inch will be split either side, front and back

Type in offset comparison or calculation into google there's a website that works it out for you, tells you how much they'll stick out and how much extra room you'll have on the inside edge.
