Would it put you off?

Car in question is a VW Golf mk4 V5 with over 200k miles on an 02 plate.

Got rid of an Octavia TDi last year which had over 240k on it (and is still going well today) but unsure about a petrol, espcially a V5 engine.

I'd buy it, cars are built to last forever, 50k a year is average these days, that's low miles.

You stick to buying high mileage genuine cars and I'll stick to buying low mileage non write offs that are write offs that aren't

If it drives ok, buy it, if its shit, dont. Simple.

I have had both low and high miles cars, i would go out and buy a high miles car again. My current car has done 175k or so.

If it has been maintained properly then I don't see any issues with buying it.

I've seen an Octavia at an auction that had done 500k + and it was running fine..ok it may have had a few gearboxes and clutches over the years but it certainly earned its money in between that.

Fuck that, so much more examples with less mileage. Whether or not it's been looked after, things will start falling apart

Depends how much its up for and what itl be used for.

If its cheap and you plan on making money off it,i would tread carefully.High mileage puts people off regardless of how well its been looked after.

My mums L reg 1.9 petrol Mondeo estate was a nice shade of pink and is still going as far as we know and that was on 197k when they chopped it in. The clutch was fucked but then what do you expect with a woman driving it around town
