i know thats sarcasm but if you put directional tyres on backwards they won't disperse water quick/well enough and won't perform as good.

if it says left/right on the actual alloy then that's weird

Ben, its the actuall whels them selves. The spokes point in different directions so that when they are fitted to the left and right hand side of the car they all point the same way (forwards or backwards).
