seeing as i'm well into the escort scene now i thought i'd post this from the forum
keep an eye out for this Mk1 Escort RS2000.
It's a well known car & often does the RSOC "Lakes Tour".
It was stolen today from Nottingham & taken away on a car trailer. It was last seen on the A46. Someone got a photo of it being towed by a silver car, possibly a VW Passat.
NRR 547M
heres a picture of it in all its glory
heres a actual picture of it being trailored away by the theives
what arseholes, imagine seeing that pic of your car on someone else trailer being stolen

The actual fucking cheek of stealing a car on a trailer in broad fucking day light. Thieves need to be killed.

Well by knowing where the picture was taken they must be able to work out the route it had taken from where it was stolen, retrace the step's and find CCTV on that route to gain the numberplate of the car which was towing it which is pretty much case solved..

Thats all well and good till you find out that the car towing it has had number plates off a different car put on it!

So your going to dismiss this line of enquiry before you have checked?
I'd say it's most likely he wouldn't have changed the plate's on the car if it is a legal car to begin with, there's too much effort involved, and most of the time it mean's more risk of being caught, as you need to get the plates made which is although not impossible it is harder to do now as you need a logbook.

Well that's where i would be focusing my 'investigation' if it was me looking for the car, i doubt he has many more lead's and I'm sure even if the vehicle was wearing duplicated plate's I'm fairly sure all new registration plates made are so with the manufacturers company/post code at the bottom? so there would be a mailing address or something further to work on there as a clue to the culprit

It's not difficult to get a plate made without a logbook and with no identifiers on it.
It's even less difficult to just take one off a car.

Taking one off a car is pointless. as soon as the owner spot's it, which i am sure they will by morning/during the course of the day the plate is pretty much useless as it will have a marker on it and as soon as it goes through an ANPR it will get itself tugged, and i would bet on most criminal's knowing this.
Also most traffic copper's will pull a car with no identifier's on a number plate as they are by nature hateful petty bastards who pick up on these seemingly minor infraction's... yes i have known it to be done!

They even reversed it onto the trailer which would have taken a a few seconds longer cheeky twats.

Or, you report the plate stolen, they aren't interested and you never hear about it again, as has happened to my dad.
