If you want cash there is a daily limit, and it is probably worth phoning up in advance to find out what that is - think its different from bank to bank.

If you want to do an online transfer, they don't care how much.

I've gone a few grand without notice. Only time I give it is when I want bigger notes.

Local branch doesn't carry 50s.

Passport is suitable ID for Barclays.

Not sure, I would probably phone to make sure and that way you can ask for £50 notes so you're not carrying a massive envelope.

Agree, phone them first to confirm, then you can go in and the spastic serving you can count it all out loudly with everyone watching.

At everybank i have worked for anything under 20k is no big deal, above that would be worth giving few days notice.

All banks care about this.... To avoid money laundering using "layering" and security

Barclays and First Direct don't have daily transfer limits for internet transactions AFAIK. If other banks are different then yes, I am wrong.

Withdrawing cash is completely different from transfers though, mostly due to money laundering rules and not wanting people to come along and withdraw tens of thousands leaving the branch with no cash

News to me.
In fact I did £12000 just this week as the deposit for my flat to my solicitor - went straight through no questions asked.

Fuck it, what do I know

Can phone first but I went into Lloyds and took out £13k without calling first. Think you'd have to phone so they can get an amount like £30k upwards out the timed safe. Not sure though.

Be aware that if you are pulled over with an amount of money over £1,000 the plod can take your money. something to do with drug dealing, so if its for a car or something have evidence that its for a car and not drugs. unless it is
