Anyone a member of any? Could do with joining one as having a problem with my bike and could do with some advice but there's a fair few to choose from. Which one do people recommend for helpfulness and general ease of use? Preferably English based rather than an American one.

I think I've cross threaded the rear skewer into one of the ABP's. That or its got a load of mud and water in and ceased it all together. Either way it seems like a bad design so wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with it and if there is anyway of preventing it happening again.

This is the skewer and the gold nut on the left that has seized on to it
Skewer should be through here with the gold nut sat at this side of the photo inside that other gold bit
having to undo that gold bit on the frame at the moment to take it apart to get the rear wheel on and off. Bit of a ball ache.
Just seems a bit crap that it can seize up like it has. I greased it but it lasted one ride before it started getting hard to tighten up and undo again! Thats what makes me think its a poor design.

Unfortunately mate from the looks of things it is just a poor design. Although i can't see how you can't just put a normal skewer through. The best design i've found are these..

Really easy to use.

That is the only skewer that works with treks abp so theres no way of using anything different. It is a bit odd how that has happened, but take it back to the place you bought it, or your local trek dealer and they will get it all sorted out under warranty/
www.pinkbike.com is probably the biggest bike forum out there. It is canadian but theres shit loads of people on there so its a good place to be

Get some WD40 and FILL the lid with it, then leave the nut end sat in it for 48 hours.
