Heard a few peeps saying, that going under your mums name for insurance and yourself being the named driver, when in actual fact your the main is actually void. You are not insured!? Am i correct?
I have been doing this for my past two cars, and my mum has never driven either!

I wouldnt have thought it mattered really i mean how can they prove that you have been driving the car constantly???
It only really matters when you have an accident!! obvioulsy you well be driving then!

yes it is correct but if u have an accident they would have difficulty proveing that was the 583493689 time u had used it that week. u are actually suposed to declare that u are the main driver on the policy. just be careful thats all. for example u might not be covered for to and from work so if u do have a prang just think twice before givin a statement

Many people do it. It's like with declaring modifications, some people don't bother.

if it gets broken into at work or hit and they ask people there and they say you have it there everyday you could be charged with providing false information to get insurance

It's classed as fronting and insurance companies aren't stupid.

If the car is a bog standard 1.2 Corsa with no modifications then you'll probably get away with it.
If the car has even a hit of "rice boy" they'll do their utmost to get out of paying.

If you mod the car quite alot whilst under your mums insurance and happen to have a prang. When the insurance bloke comes to have a look at it,It won't take a genius to work out your mum probably never drove the thing. Making you more prone to making your policy invalid.
Most 40 year old mums generally aren't into modding i've found!!!!

If the "moter" is too much for you, then you should be driving something less exotic.
Or you should get a job.
Or a better job.

Then you have to be responsible and take charge of your actions.

You might as well drive without insurance.

I wouldn't shed a tear if you damaged your car and was unable to claim.

plus in the future , say when you are in your 20's, your not going to be insured under your mums name then, and because you don't have any no-claims you'll have to have a slow car!

How sweet is this.
My mate did insured his car in his mums name. Anyways, he brought a N reg Corsa Sport for £3100 with 15" alloys. He added a headunit and lexus rear lights and a dtm exhaust. Someone crashed into him. Insurance company wrote off the car and paid out £3600 for the car how is was.
My mate brought another Sport but a P reg. He quickly swapped over the wheels, exhaust, rear lights and head unit before the insurance company took the car away insurance didn't notice and so he has effectively came out better!

but if she has two policies in her name, and she is the main driver on both, they know that you'll be using the other one!

Insurance companies arent going to pay out when they think they can get away with it, they will find out someway! Also, tke a look on your cover not and documents, will mention all about it on there!
