Random Q: Is the red C in your avatar "THE" 1.8 T Regal's old car - owned by Lee Ratliff at one point?

I know cars dont give up at that sort of mileage. My honda is on 118,000.
However higher mileage cars can be harder to shift once you want rid.

I can't talk for all, but mileage for me is quite important.

There are several components that will give up after a certain point. The higher the mileage, the higher the chances of something going wrong.
This doesn't just go for mechanics. The interior will wear, and the bodywork will have seen more stonechips, dings, scratches etc.

Its done about 4k miles more a year than average (based on 12k average) so say an average user buys it is possible within couple of years it will be back to normal. Got to look at it objectively sometimes.

I understand the whole bodywork issue but mechanically and interior wise you I dont think you'd have much issues with modern cars. I would only be weary about milleage when it comes to depreciation. My Brother is a trader and we see all sorts, some cars with 20k miles are in worse condition than some with 80k miles.

4k miles doesn't sound much, but a 30% increase does (to me anyway).

I know what you mean. Its all down to how the car has been looked after.

But say you own it and do 7-8k miles a year, where are you in two years time? You've saved money on buying a car with higher miles but by doing less miles you end up with a car worth as much as others with average miles but you paid less for it a couple of years before.

People who do little miles should in theory profit from buying higher mile cars.
