had a good look over the car last few days just driving it gettin used to it ect.

its got the following mods atm

3" pugsport full system with decat and 421 manifold

lowered around 60mm at back and 50 up front

oz superturismo alloys in white

106 ram induction

thats all i can think of atm however the car has its problems which are

engine very very tappity. i got it home and found the guy had not even put any oil in at all or coolent so i topped everything up ect but its still really tappety and sometimes it goes and sometimes it comes back?

driveshaft is knocking but ive been told these eat them so was thinkin of gettin rally stonger ones

and atm has quickshift on but its shite feels like a stick in a bag of coal.

the good thing is the bodywork is absolutly mint. no rust only a very small 1cm section on rear bumper where paint has come away a bit but ile get that done will look very very nice washed and polished ect.

and its only done 80k and thats not bad for a 1998 model i dont think.

im thinkin maybe after christmas i may buy a jp4 engine because ive heard these are basically a newer version of the gti engine and i may just use that with the gearbox that is on now ect. but if anybody knows anything about these would be good.

so yeah any help would be great cheers

ile get pics at weekend as its dirty so ile give it a wash if the weather is good.

also interior is also mint condition full leather, with sunroof (which thank god dosent leek).

im just worried about engine tbh its probs been ragged but which 106 hasent? so thats why im thinkin of gettin a backup jp4 engine they seem easy enough to swap over? so may jkust buy one after crimbo and replace timing belt ect on it ect then put that it.

people use the c2 heads on the gti botom end and re drill the inlet side so the gti inlet will bolt on.

if the cars mega low then it will chew shafts and boxes.

as for no oil and coolant, the lifters could be shagged

Did you not have a good look over it when you went to view it??
Common sense says to check the oil and make sure it has coolant in it.

these spit shafts for fun iv had 2 saxos and a 106 scrapped the last saxo as the shaft went and caused some awful damage so any sign of that getting noisy change them dont wait like i did stupidly, but other than that the smile factors ace

yeah i had a look over it obvs, it sounded pretty quiet. and the car was warm so oil said it was on just above minimum but the guy said it was cos he did not have time to top it up so i did so as soon as i got home and same with coolent.

decieded gonna buy a jp4 from the c2 vts or wateva, then you have to drill the head as phillip said for inlet ect. then transfer a few parts over from the j4 in the car at monent.

but for the moment ile jjst have to live with it and make sure i keep an eye on it, really does put a smile on your face when its popin though
