Who are you all with?
Im with Natwest, and they have pissed me off one last time.
Whos good to give my business too?
Checklist:
1. Do they accuse you of lying and regularly "loose" payments?
2. Are they all rude fucking shitcunts on the phone?
3. Do they say they will do something, then simply... don't?
Been looking at Co-op as they seem to have good reviews on customer service
Anyone with them>?
Plus how hard is it to switch? Ive never done it

HSBC, not had much of a problem with them. Dislike the Indian call centres though.
Also, I agree with brett below

Personally, I'd just go into another bank and open a new account then use that as my main one. I'd leave the Natwest one sat doing nothing rather than binning it.

Lose. Lose. Lose
i'm with Halifax, not had any problems really that werent my own fault. They did give me a 500 overdraft then a few months later changed their terms so i now get charged £1 every day i'm overdrawn. But that's my fault anyway for being there I spose

Why will a bank account doing nothing charge you for something?
Just for me personally it doesn't do any harm having a few accounts. Also, if you've already established a relationship with Natwest over the years with your wages going in, you may want them for some kind of finance in the future?

HSBC. They're shit just made a thread about them on another forum actually. Recently needed to get money out for car purchase...
Open late on Thursdays yeah? Don't allow cash withdrawls.
Open on Saturdays yeah? Don't allow cash withdrawls
Told me to go back and transfer funds to a family member online then they can get it out for me. Tried this and guess what... "This option cannot be used as you have not set this to work in your bank"
Plus, they stopped my debit card from working for reason, phoned up to find out while and apparently loads of HSBC cards have recently be targeted online for fraud. They tried using mine the fuckers! Getting a new card sent out as we speak.
All that happened in one week.

I beleive that to be a myth about the future finance thing tbh. It would be done on credit score and doubt they will GAF if you have had an account for a while.
If you leave it dorment beleive me they will find a way to charge me

Well, I know for a fact that Barclays examined my past 6 months accounts when I wanted an overdraft rather than doing a credit check.
I've had accounts sat for ages and not been charged either.

I must be lucky, never ever had a problem with HSBC
and I transfer money around all the time, direct debits, etc.
Think my business friend banks with Natwest or Barclays, so that's not very helpful.
My card was once cloned about 5 years ago, but that was down to the local BP station bastards and HSBC stopped them before they could spend anything.

Switching banks is easy. You just give your new bank all your details and your old bank account no.s etc and the new bank do all the work. They will move over all your standing orders/direct debits and inform the old bank that you are leaving them etc.
Well this is what First Direct did for me when I fucked off Barclays about 9 years ago!

100 million % agree.
Switched to them from Barclays about 3 years ago and they are fantastic, end of. Not the best interest rates, but by far the best service about.
