Right,

I need to get from Hull to a hotel Abingdon (just outside Oxford) tomorrow by about 8:00 tomorrow evening. I'm doing a 3 day training course at the HQ of my company (RM)

The options are:

Leave Hull at pretty much whatever time I want in my company car and arrive in Abingdon. Happy days. This means I have the car for the evening etc if/when I want to leave the hotel and see the surroundings.

Or

Jump on the train from Hull to Donny, Donny to Oxford, Oxford to Abingdon (well, just round the corner from Abingdon). All fares (taxi and train) can be claimed back through the company. This of course means i wont have a car when i get there.

I've had the go ahead from my boss to get the train and claim back all the fares, but, will I miss my car? In the grand scheme of things, I don’t really plan on leaving the hotel in the evenings. The laptop is full of films and TV episodes, so I’ll veg out and watch those.

My reason for not knowing what to do is because of the weather up here in the North. I don’t like driving in the snow, and I don’t like driving on motorways at the best of times...so...snow + motorways could = a FAIL.

What would you do?

I dont plan on using the car in the evenings, and my hotel is only 4 miles from the place where the training will be (taxi!)

No matter what, car. Just leave an hour earlier than you'd need to.

I'd rather rely on myself driving than the trains not being fucked up.

I used to take the train to work and there is nothing worse than finding out the trains are either delayed due to snow or cancelled. By the time youre on one the things are full as fuck with 0 chance of you getting a seat.

I'd drive, people make out it's more dangerous than it is, main roads will be fine anyway
