Managed to get it stuck twice (stuck for about 5 mins and had to reverse!! pah)
5ft snow drifts
Managed to go through a few but once they got too frequent/thick the ground clearance became an issue. Managed to eventually get out by lowering the car a few times to compact the snow down under the belly
Prop should have known it wasnt going to happen when the snow started coming over the bonnet

People don;t know how to drive them properly though, correct tyres etc and I don't belive that it is getting pulled out by an X5, could be another Land Rover for all we know.

Depends what you try and do with it.
Mine's coped with everything but then I haven't been too daft either
Mine doesn't have CDL, just TC. Been using low range and mud mode on the auto box, hill decent for creeping, no bother.
Gratuitous LR in the snow vids

Loads but it's worth every penny.
I generally only get 24ish out of the Astra so 17/18 isn't the end of the world when you consider how useful the car is.

I've got a new grand Vitara now and its been brilliant today in the snow. Not been in anything hugely challenging but its coping no problem with getting out our street etc thats usually a nightmare.
Has an electronic diff lock etc so a set of snow tyres for next year and I'll be laughing.

i Dont know how much you know about offroading, but try and find a local guy who does 'cheap' remolds. Dont bother with fancy names. Know loads of people who blow £700 on a set of khumos or what every they are called, when my £250 kingpin ones had a more agressive tread pattern on my vitara!
