888.
You're going to buy them eventually. I'm going to do a group buy on WR at some point when we have enough people.

cant justify the cost of the 888, not for a small 1.2 doing occasional track days on a non competitive level

So do a few days and sell them part worn. If you get 195/50s I'll have them off you when you're done.

Why not just use your normal tyres then?

They're worth money second hand, which T1Rs won't be. You'll lose less doing a few days on the 888s and selling on than buying T1R that are not worth selling after you've used them.

i had 4 T1rs. when i came to replace i bought s-drives. Imo bit better in the wet and pritty similar in the dry unless there all scrubbed up but id say s-drives are harder wearing and about the same price.

Iv got T1R's been very good so far, much better than the soft kuhmo's I had first (not sure what they were). Highly recommended on MR2 forums, doesn't help you mind but they do grip very well and keep's my back end behind me, as apposed to beside like with the kumhos.

I haven't tried these tyres but people seem to rate the kumho ku31, can't go wrong for 37£ a corner in 45 profile
t1r is about 30£ in 50 profile

I looking at getting Toyo R1R's for my next project, they are between T1-R's and R888's.
Has anybody used them yet? It's only because I'm more likely to be using them on the road, in all weathers.

195/50 would be better than 195/45 for track days I reckon.

Just pay a little more for a decent tyre. T1r's are shite in the wet and wear very quickly in my experience.
