Its not just about lowering your car, theres a matter of trying to improve the handling as well. If you just wanted to lower the thing you could buy a set of springs for under 100 quid??

So if you want good value for money go for gmax, if you can afford more go for something more expensive such as spax

I have gmax springs and dampers (-60mm)
I think they're quite good considering the price.
In my opinion they handle well but obviously the more expensive brands will be superior.
They're good if you are on a budget.

You tend to get what you pay for with suspension, AVO coilovers are supposed to be good. 'bout £500. and the top mounts on g-max are crap.

yup the top mounts are absolute CRAP on GMAX
They also seem to have a tendancy to squeak which is driving me mad!
MUST CHANGE THEM

G-Max and Bilstein share the same shocks, which are made by DeCarbon. So quality of the shocks is not an issue, since Bilstein are supposed to be a good make.

they might b made by the same company, but the build quality of the bilstein r far superior

but the shocks are identical? How can the build quality be better than those of g-max? The springs may well be a better quality though.

the sprintline kits r better as the dampers are a lot thicker.
if u did an engine conversion, u couldnt use the g-max kit as they wouldn't last 2 minutes

well, the only problem with fox alloys is that they are common as a slapper on a busy friday night! Any 17 year old that walks into halfords with daddy's cheque book in toe gets fox alloys, because thats what halfords push to sell, fox wheels. I know someone that works there, and they'd rather sell fox then other makes.
Why bother with fox, i had evo1's and although they are nice, i sold them because every 3rd modded car i see has them on around this way!
GMAX suspension is good for the price, it all depends what people can afford, i got gmax suspension system on my corsa b, and that handles well...
