I was paying £142 a month with Quinn Direct.
But then when I was to get it renewed they were asking for £180 a month.
I havn't driven it for 2 months, just becasue I aint been able to afford it.
I have just done a quote on go compare, and flux was the cheapest with £170 a month, I then rung them up, they went through my details, and they asked me if I had a part time job, I said yes, I have a part time job and I am in full time education.
The quote went up from £170 a month to £190 because I have a part time job, I only work part time in Mcdonalds! its stupid!!
I have only gone for 3rd party fire and theft
I have my mum as one of the drivers.
also, is it best to ring up, rather then go on 'Go Compare'?
Who would you reccomend?

It didn't go up because you have a fulltime job will
It's because you mentioned the word STUDENT!

Get a slower standard car if you want cheaper insurance.

That'll be half the problem then. In no way am I saying don't insure the mods, as you should always be fully covered, but from my experience price comparison sites like that always give high quotes when a lot of modifications are listed.
You'd be better ringing specialist insurers IMO. Try HIC and Brentacre to start with, both always gave me decent quotes.

Try Endsleigh they used to like students. My insurance went up with them when I left Uni and started work full time. It nearly doubled iirc.

park it on the street, lower the yearly miles not to the extent like you have put 2k miles when you actually do 20k miles a year, alarm wise it just has standard fit stuff, change where you park it during the day if you can, add other people to the policy?
change the car otherwise to something slower.

They probably are happy paying that for a car they want to drive.
Paying it off in full is cheaper

Just think in a few year's time you will be paying that a year!
You just have to cough up the money I'm afraid, and grin and bear it.
You could always sell the car and get some old banger like a 1.1 Fiesta or something.

I think your fucking stupid for saying that. Policy was probably circa £1200 with the rest interest, which i would say was bad considering his circumstances.
Think you just jumped aboard the doyle band-wagon tbh

Insurance is weird.
I remember a few years ago, an Astra mk3 1.4 16v was several hundred pounds more dearer than a 2.5 V6 Calibra.
