I would say 25-30k for a 700/800bhp build depending on gearbox used!

Mad to go for that much power, will be undriveable.

Looks gorgeous though, you are making me want one again

Everyone mentions running costs of them, or rather just the amount of fuel they use, it can't be that bad, can it?

^ Depends on what you think is "bad".

IIRC brake discs are stupidly priced at a few hundred quid.

Sounds good though.

Well at the moment I am happy if I get 200 miles to a tank, and my brake discs are also a few hundred quid for a decent set. My car is quite expensive to own but all I hear Evo owners moaning about is how much it costs so I can't help but wonder just how it can be so expensive.

You'll be doing good to see 150 miles out of a tank in an Evo.

See that is pretty bad to be fair, what about other costs? Regular oil changes but they're hardly bank breakers

The oil needs done every 4.5k religiously but the other oils, gearbox/diff/transfer box only needs doing every year.

Roughly about right. Getting a sequential box in it I think.

Round cadwell at 415bhp he averaged about 4/5mpg

my evo 8 does 140 miles to a full tank

thats a mix of normal driving and a bit and i mean i little bit of fun.

they are awful on fuel but it dont matter when u put your foot down and it just goes and goes

for a 840 (700) build you will need
stroked engine 2.3
large intercooler
large intake manifold
at least a GT 40 turbo
custom ecu
strengthened drive shafts
3 plate clutch (might get away with 2 plate)
remove ayc and just have rs diffs
huge brakes
5 speed gearbox (wont last long) so a sqaure cut gearbox

thats just for starters lol

oh yeah major major head work will be needed

i got 100 odd miles to a full tank the other week , that was hard driving so a 700bhp evo must be a killer

The Civic doesn't have an onboard computer to tell me my MPG but tbh it's a good thing as I would be depressed

Yea Norri isn't cheap so well over £20k I'd say... that's gonna be fooking nuts when it's done
