If you had been with the same person for two years would you put ALL of your money together into a joint account/mortgage, even if you earned substantially more than your other half?
Answers and comments please guys :-). Ps m nit going to say my opinion yet as I don't want to bias the results in any way!

Been with my missus nearly 4 years now, we're engaged, pregnant and own a house together.
She earns 12-13k, I earn £19-20.
Our money is seperate, I spend way too much for her to find out by seeing joint statements!

depends, i had a join account for savings
but your money is your money, have a join account and both but even in each month to pay the bills
and if you trust them, you should have no issues

my and the missus have been together about 6 years total and have a mortgage together.
we have a join account. she earns 18k and i earn 35k+ so theres a considerable jump but all my wages go into the account.
i am starting to put some money into my own separate account to save up for a car and she keeps some money back in her own account for herself to go shopping.
works out alright.

It's not a question if trust, more of uncertainty in the very long run. If we went 50/50 on EVERYTHING and it went wrong in s few years then it would be a huge financial loss. A joint account for living costs snd the mortgage wouldn't be a problem.

I just came out of a 3 year relationship, we had a joint account and still do. I rarely put money in it so it wasn't a problem, but we agreed to extend the overdraft to £2,500 together with it

Been with chloe for nearly 7 years now. We got a joint account last January. But I will always have a seperate account. She'd spend it all on asos
getting married in august but still keeping seperate accounts.
If she needs money she can ask

The mrs and I have a joint account, of which we both pay the same into (for aguments sake £700 each) and the morgage and bills etc come out off it.
The rest of the money I earn I keep in my account and spend as I wish.
There is no need for a joint account only situation.

Joint account and have been since i moved in. We just spend spend spend till the card declines Not any of this put such amount in a joint account and i keep my wage bit selfish imo.
We know that any megga expense we need to discuss but other than that we get what we want no probs
