I've just got some LED DRL's and numberplate lights for my car and they are supposed to be canbus friendly (somehow) and not throw the warning lights up. Not fitted them yet though.

You can ones with built in resistors that override that can't you?

I can't put LED's in mine either as there's enough voltage constantly running through the car even when it's off so they stay on dimly all the time

The 15 led ones of ultraleds draw enough current not to throw a warning, check the fit, they don't in my ibiza sidelights.

Bulbs have nothing to do with canbus! its down to cold bulb monitoring! - but yeh they need to have a resistance to not throw a bulb warning up

Canbuss is basically digital signals running through the wires rather than current if I remember correctly, and also not ment to be able to solder the wires as tht buggers the signal up??

Same for the bimmer, i cant fit facelift LED tail lights unless I get the bulb warning coded out or the ones with built in resistors.

No one you know have any alfa software to code out the warning from the number plate lights?

This thread is full of so much miss-information.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Is in infact full of misinformation after I did some reading last night

-CANBUS is a system of using resistance not voltage for signalling iin wires, meaning less wires can be used to do more clever stuff.

-It's the bulb detection system (part of my BCM) that fucks me over on this instance.

Still pisses me off
