When its idleing it seems like it going to cut out revs drop below 1000rpm and then back up also engine management light came straight on anyone help me?

its a 1 litre 12v its running really crap when idleing it drops below 1000rpm then back up and seems like its going to cut out also engine management light came straigh on .. can any one help pleese

Idle control valve.

HT leads would just cause i missfire if breaking down.

if i go to scrapyard on sataday for a new icv will it have to be out of another 1litre corsa or could i ude any really ?

Jesus christ, don't go buying and fitting an ICV based on a guess. Find out what's the matter with it and replace the part that's fucked, you'll end up buying a full new engine at that rate

1st clean throtlebody with brake cleaner n do icv while ya there
