At the moment my Corsa has a cheap eBay manifold and a straight through centre pipe. The manifold has just cracked and the rest of the system has seen better days so I'm going to have a full manifold back system made up.

Ive heard good things about Longlife exhausts but I'm not sure where to go. Ive got a budget of £400-£500, could maybe stretch to £600 but don't really want to.

Any suggestions of where to go, and how much I'll be looking at?

Depends where you go.

Powerflow exhausts themselves are good, its the cowboy that fits them that gives some branches a bad name.

Depends how far you want to travel to get one fitted, Pipewerx in lathom (about 30 seconds from me) are one of THE best ss exhaust people about.
Most of the big builds in VW circles have there exhausts. Lifetime guarantee too iirc ;-)

They have a website just google them and you will find it

i used these guys

http://www.mijexhaust.com/vauxhall-exhaust-system-stainless-steel-exhaust.html
ok so it was only for a back box but their "custom" option was the same price as buying off the shelf and included fitting. they are a decent set of guys, seemed to know their stuff. had a massive selection of tuned cars they were working on, track/drag cars and the like

i'm sure they could give you a quote and give you some idea of prices

Thanks for the replies people, I'm going to phone around today. Might pop down to longlife for a quote this afternoon.

I don't really want to travel to the ends of the earth, but I'm not worried about travelling if it's reasonable.

I used powerflow for the exhaust system on my x18xe1. I used the one in Bromley and the guy knows his stuff. I think it's more down to the fitter than the company. I had a 2 1/4 inch straight through system by the way

I'm half tempted to give them a ring, but I'm too keen on paying out for something I may not be happy with...

Was yours a full system? How much did they charge?

If you can stetch your budget even further the Simpson race exhausts is definately a good shout. Their worksmanship is second to none

i had a full system made for my bodied 20xe corsa including a manifold - it was £850 + Vat but was pure exhaust porn tbh

Yeah I wouldn't mind spending the money on something worthwhile, but not my Corsa.

Was like 400 I think for straight through cat back. Why not get a z18xe corsa c manifold then get it made to that.

I loved mine. That bavkbox (3' outwards rolled) fitted perfectly. I'll try n find a pic

That's what I'm going to have to do I think, can pick up a John Ashley 4-1 for around 140 on corsa-c. I wanted a decent 4-2-1 to be honest but I can't pay c£400 on a manifold when I'll be looking at a new car shortly.

I'm not sure Jake, on my phone on the train so I can't check. Where abouts is it, I'm from Bracknell near Reading.

The plan as it stands if to get the John Ashley 4-1, and go down to longlife and have a two box system made up aing the Jhon Ashley Manifold. Is ceramic coating worth it? The manifolds are mild steel but can ceramic coat for £60.

Edit: Also, another option is to shorten the oil pickup pipe to allow the 1.4 or 1.6 sump to fit. I could then fit a decent x16xe manifold and system. Only problem is I can't did much information about how much to shorten by etc. Would have to whip the sump off and compare to the 1.6 item. Prefer to keep my car on the road as much as possible.
