I thought this, my Dad only realised his MOT was overdue by three months the other day. Luckily no ANPR cameras about around here

Wait until a high horse member reads this and says its your own fault etc.

Ive forgot about mine before but only by a week or two, my mum has forgot by about 3 months.

£60 fine isnt the end of the world either.

Get off your high horse Barnshaw, it's too much common sense to stick a reminder in your phone or whatever to get your MOT done in 12 months time just after you've had it renewed.

but you get tax reminders, so why not MOT reminders?

i'll tell you why. tax goes to the DVLA and government. mot's paid in cash go in the garage owners pocket and not always on the books.

no reminder means more people are likely to forget to mot their car meaning fines and revenue for the government.

Both are his own fault, unless the bus and taxi sign was missing.

I put that MOT sticker on my windscreen as it has the date on the back.

As much as it is on your own back it's easy enough to do, especially if you have a date in your head that you think it's due and it's not that.

Did it with the KA in Jan, thought it was due in Feb but it expired on the 1st of Jan.

Didn't get caught though

Not being funny but the garage has to make some money

£50 isn't a great lot once a year.

I had a good idea you would reply, It is his fault for the bus lane etc and it is his fault for forgetting to MOT his car but its easily done and hardly the end of the world.
