Has anyone on here ever had any Hypnotherapy or been under hypnosis? Even know someone who has?

I am going for some pretty soon as i am probably the most nervous person alive

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

I've known people get it to stop smoking and smoked within 24 hours.

Don't waste your money.

If you wanna beat nerves then you wanna get yourself down some karaoke bars and get up on stage.

I can understand. I can get nervous just leaving the house, but I don't have a problem getting up on stage and performing.

You've gotta overcome the fear and push yourself! Use alcohol or other controlled substances if you need to but the only real solution is to do it.

What did the quack give you? Friend was given beat blockers to take before interviews/meetings etc, she says they work pretty well.
As for hypnotherapy, personally i think it's a load of ball. Everyone i know that has had it for smoking says it only really works if you keep doing the sessions, otherwise you'll relapse if you stop etc Plus it isn't cheap.

I don't think you could be the most nervous person alive as thats me

Adio would also be a prime candidate

That was actually the most nervous thing I've ever done!! It took me by surprise too as I thought it would be just like playing in my band.

Also, meeting my ex's dad and his family was awful.... I had sweat patches all the way down to my waist.

Horrible, horrible time!

I used to be very bad with nerves a few years ago. I'm a musician u see and I've performed on live telly a few times and even infront of 3-4000 people at once

It's horrible when you get the shakes and any other symptoms of nerves but i've seem to have got over it recently I know this post probably won't help much but what I would suggest is that you just try and relax, keep you're mind of it and use the butterflies to your advantage. think of it as a challange and tell yourself that you can overcome it

Also, what I try and remember when I'm performing is that no one wants to see you fail or make an arse of yourself so just try and keep calm. I don't know whether this would apply to you though

Most people get nervous, stop over thinking things and just do it. As said putting yourself in awkward situations is the way to making it easier.

Well to be fair I wasn't talking about you really, you seem to have problems.. But most people as I said, can get over it by putting themselves in awkward situations, and gradually gets easier.

I agree that going out and doing things more does help, but its doing it in the 1st place that is hard.

Ive got an interview in 3 weeks and i am crapping myself about it, even thinking about it makes me feel terrible. I know for a fact that for the next 3 weeks i will be feeling shit.

I am definitely going to give hypnotherapy a go, i know its not guarantied and is quite expensive (£80 a session) but if it helps just a little bit then its worth it.

I hate the way it makes me, i applied for this job 2-3 weeks ago, and ever since i have kinda been thinking "oh crap i hope i dont get an interview, i will be shitting myself" which is not what i want to think! I do want the job etc but my head messes with me!
