As im starting to get into detailing but wont be going as anal as that vxr mark lad.
At the minute every sat/sunday i wash car with wash n wax or autoglym car shampoo n leather off then use this stuff called grease lightming stuff.
Would u guys say its worth changing to snow foam. Dont fancy t-cut as its a fairly recently a respray car

Don't leather off, get a microfibre drying towel.

For good guides go to Polished Bliss or Detailing World.

snow foam is a pre=wash and loosens/removes some of the dirt on the car before you follow it up with a wash using a shampoo.

You need a snow foam lance to attach to a pressure washer.

Snowfoam - gimmick that people just getting into detailing love

No more effective than a thorough rinse off with a pressure washer and a 2 bucket wash.

Most of my day to day maintenance work I just pre rinse at high pressure.

Dirty cars get pre soaked on the lower third with a non caustic TFR.

Detailing - more for 'show' than anything get foamed with Bilt Hamber Autofoam or ValetPro Citrus Pre Wash.

Snowfoam is a derivative of TFR, but a very very weak one - more a shampoo than anything. The idea is it loosens dirt and pulls loose dirt off the surface before washing so you don't rub it into the paintwork. Reality is though it isn't that effective - even on cars with a lot of decent protection on already.

Also, greased lightning iirc is a very heavy silicone based product - not good for your paintwork!

Nick - be aware that TFR will strip wax, and will stain paintwork if left on for too long - in direct sun it shouldn't be used.

Naz - Unless you are happy with spending out ~£50 + on something that doesn't do a lot, then just stick to a thorough pre rinse with a pressure washer.

Nick - Hazsafe is the one I use, it will still degrade wax though, as will APC as a lot of those are a co-polymer remover or degreaser recipe base. Both are better than a streng TFR though.

Naz - Yup thorough pre rinse, wash using 2 bucket method, rinse, bug & tar remover, rinse, dry, then polish with SRP. If you want long lasting protection, follow up with a wax such as Collinite 476s.

For a drying microfibre thats cheap, go to Asda and get there own brand micro fibre drying towel! They are 2 for a fiver they are quite big and they are brilliant And use the tar remover after you have washed the car so you can see where all the tar spots are
