Made 120.13 at the wheels. 108 ft/lb torque.

Guy said it would work out about 141bhp ish at the fly.

Well chuffed with that.

Nice figure.Bet its a quick wee car.

iirc,to get a fly figure from from wheel figure you add 10bhp then divide by 0.9.Whatever that works out to be.

theres not really such a thing as a static calculation you can use, its all based on a drag curve which takes into account tranmission losses, tyres, etc etc, its all guesswork and never really accurate, onl really interested in wheel figures, good result that though 120 at the wheels

Should have said to give a rough estimate, thats how they do it iirc.

Why only interested in wheel figures??

because thats the only accurate reading the rest is guesswork and varies widely from place to place, never take a flywheel reading as gospel it can be out as much as 20 bhp

Unless it's actually measured on an engine dyno anyway Steve.

So if you went to a RR day with PumaPeople or whatever, and several standard 1.7 VCT Puma's made bang on 123bhp,would you take that as gospel??
Yes some can be out by a mile, but some can be pretty accurate.

Do you think that Ford lied when they said the Puma had 123bhp @ the fly??

i imagine ford tested there cars on hub or engine dynos which are more accurate then rolling roads.

i also would imagine they tested a range and came up with some sort of average.

on top of that they obviously arent operating a rolling road business so any test would be done as fair as possible and we wouldnt have operators touching the brakes etc to generate a higher readout to give customers a false sense of satisfcation (so much of this goes on in this game you wouldnt believe)

to answer your question, i wouldnt even bother getting a standard car tested if it was running right.
