Fucking useless twats, over confidence is their undoing.

Indeed, a very good read. I have a huge interest in Special Forces, mainly UK based ones. The Mrs is from Hereford, which makes visits to her parents more interesting

This is a quality watch. There are a few different variants of this documentary too. In one, there are interviews with some of the main guys who were involved, some who show their faces, and others who dont. The best accounts come from John Mclease (sp), and Rusty Firman. I have a book written and signed by Rusty, called "go go go", which goes very deep into the whole story...with ALOT of inside info.

Mogadishu was a monumental fuck up, of that there is no doubt but all special forces will have had some missions go wrong, it comes with the territory.

This should get you going:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=SAS

Bravo Two Zero is a good read, as I The One That Got Away. Both of these two stories are of the same failed mission behind enemy lines in the first Gulf war. Bravo Two Zero is the account of Andy McNab (Real name Steven Mitchell), and the other is of Chris Ryan (I forget his real name). I think both former soldiers have bent the truth to make themselves look like the hero, but, it’s interesting to read about the differences.

*Spoiler Alert

Also, both soldiers clearly blame one man in the 8 man team for getting them compromised on the mission. They blame Vince Phillips, who was one of the 3 who died in the end. On my last trip to Hereford, the Mrs and I happened to be visiting a church yard...and it was only the SAS regimental grave yard! Vince's grave was there, along with many many many others, which dated back from the start of the SAS in WW2.
