The E70 is a completely different kettle of fish to one Whittie had, much better car and now have what BMW call efficient dynamics so they are not as thristy as the old X5's.
3.0d Sport auto
Would prefer a Rangey sport for 25K though Will probs be the crappy TDv6 though. Will need about 28k to catch a TDv8 atm.

Hi mate i work in a bmw garage! In my very honest opinion they are very nice car's! BUT i would think you're mrs is wanting it for looks??? because all the other 4x4's on the market once specced up cost half the price and do very much the same job. I like them but wouldnt buy one if I had the money! If you have any questions feel free to u2u me!

We had a x5 3.0d as a sales car, the injectors and injector seals kept going the dpf ended up replaced twice and the bm54 unit that controls the sound on the stereo gradually lost each of its channels till the stereo played through one speaker lol

Missus mum has a 55 plate 3.0d sport (only about 8 months before they bought the new shape out). Good car, never goes wrong either. Only does 21 mpg though, but all she does is town milage really.

If shes more interested in looks, she may also be able to get some off the list price:
