mot ran out on the 11th this month. not used the car as ive been using the work van, found my mot yesterday and realised it was out..

I got fined £189 for no MOT around 5 years ago.

If you drive with no mot it invalidates your insurance so you could get 6 points and a fine

it really doesnt. if you were to have an accident with no mot your insurer could invalidate your poliy, but until the moment they do it youre insured.

I got stopped in march and got a £60 fine and £30 for the bus/taxi street I went through

I got stopped a few years ago and genuinely didnt know it had run out (not long bought the car and for some reason I thought it was the same date as my old car) At the time I worked in a main dealer and told him I wouldn't have done it on purpose as it was my place of work. He gave me a producer form and that was it. No fine or nothing

Haven't been caught personally but my mate got stopped in Glasgow before and didnt know his MOT was out and didnt get anything for it. He had claimed off his insurance about a month previously and the MOT had been out then too
