Quoted £259 for 2nd service at a local place that seems better than most ford dealers.
Dont think thats too bad, not sure what it entails right enough.....probably just an oil change.
Then i'm gonna have wheels refurbed & then its up for sale.
Told you's I wouldnt keep it long

oil and filter change iirc. nothing big.
ford are good value with their servicing, i'd take the airbox off afterwards though and check they've changed the filter as i've heard stories about them not bothering.

I'd stick in into a Ford dealer tbh just beacuse someone will be put off by a local garage servicing a car like this. At very worse I would say use a Ford specialist.
Just make sure the garage is VAT registered, are using Ford genuine parts and follow the schedule. If not Warranty will be void.

noooooooooo dont take it to ford to get ford parts, there cheap shit, gf's focus had ford spark plugs in and when I got them out one of the ceramic coatings had snapped off and was causing a misfire

Quality of parts or what they actually do is irrelevant, it's the stamp in the book.

worth taking it to ford for resale value tbh.
If I was looking to buy that sort of car and there were several similar with ford history or local garage history I know which I would go for....
Doesnt mean the work is any less quality its just the stigma for a newish car i guess

Jesus wept take it to a Ford dealer.
I wouldn't of thought an RS that new without Ford service history is going to be a good thing if you are selling up. Probably end up costing you more than you save on the service by having to sell it cheaper.

Exactly matty g. The service will cost 150 at least anywhere else so for the sake of a hundred quid you have that all important stamp.
If the airfilter piping is anything like the focus st's then its an absolute ball ache getting to the oil filter.

200 quid for labour and the dealer stamp.
Hardly stupid on a nearly new car. Although ive never done service on any car i owned but i might have a go.

Dealers service is shit though. Id take it to a specialist. Everyone knows that dealers deliver mostly poor service so they are capable at looking past it.

ITs about resale value not quality of service. Plus if its just an oil change, im sure Ford will manage. Plus they will be covered if anything goes wrong.

But if you know that then would you expect to pay less? Full well knowing that the same quality of work has been carried out?

have to agree when i look to buy a car full main dealer history isnt important, specialists are though. The particular car you are selling attracts enthusiasts i would say who would understand full dealer history is not all that important

Take it to sytech. For that type of car a stamp from them means more than a stamp from Ford
