Hi guys,
I'm starting up my own tuning company in the midlands.
Generally will start off selling parts and products and doing various chassis setups and servicing. Don't want to do anything more apart from areas I'm confident in. I'm a qualified Motorsport engineer working for a Clio cup team at present aswell as a bit with FIA GT3 with a mercedes SLS.
My general knowledge is in the Japanese Market so that would be my main focus to begin with.
I'd be setting up as a public limited company.
Names so far I have though of:
AllFunction
Area2Motorsport ( area = a rapid engineering approach )
Area2Tuning
any input would be great
thanks

Depends how you define tuning i suppose, i can map cars no problem using a basemap.
Work i can do confidently is the fitting of suspension units, coilovers etc, camber arms and bolts, camber top mounts, bushes, ball joints, steering arms, track rods you get the idea..
I can also do servicing i.e, oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter, valve clearences but i wouldn't be confident doing timing belts and chains.
I like area2motorsport, my only issue is that there is a japanese company that seem to trade under that name.

Area2Motorsport is the best out of them. Guess you'll be selling Honda parts? Could do with a few bits for a B16B

tegiwa seem to be getting a bad name themselves plus they generally
only sell there own stuff and I haven't seen them advertise anywhere in regards to fitting.
Myself and most midland guys travel tdinorth or eight speed which are both 100+ miles away, I'll also be developing
my own parts, not copying others

Why would my insurance be sky high? Presume you mean liability?

Are you wanting to focus on street cars or race/track cars?
Tuning in the name for road focus, motorsport for track/race focus

Traders insurance so you can drive all the cars and they can be replaced like for like if you had an accident when doing a test drive & your public liability insurance.

Wont neccesarily needs traders policy. No need for me to drive other peoples cars, I've always road test my own car after work being done.
Liability would be the same rate as most others fro
what I've read.

What he said!
Traders insurance is far from easy or cheap to get under 25 and when working on 99% of the cars you'd have coming through your doors!
