Hi guys,

My friend started making me my website for the company i'm creating, this is just a base so ignore the text, it was put there just to visualise what it will look like.

Any ideas or thoughts, let me know

Needs another button or two, looks weird at the minute.

Car Services should probably be indented by a tab or so

TOO MANY CAPITALS

Looks a bit off the shelf to be honest. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, but a bit without character.

Was going to say it looks very 'template', but it could be a lot lot worse. Only thing i'd really change is the shadows (/indents) on the left and right menus as it looks a bit naff; likewise with the shadow around the whole layout.

Very bland. And as others have said it looks like an average template.

Get him to add a few extra motorsport references into the design. Even if the background was carbon and there were some tyre tread marks or something.
It'd spice it up a little and make it a bit more personal.

This was just to get the general layout not a finished article by any means.

Any examples of something better welcome!

The main two competitors are www.eightspeed.co.uk and www.tdi-north.com

Make sure your mate gets things lined up properly in the finished article.
The Area Motorsport logo needs to be further over to the left.

I had a quick wee faff about. I didn't actually change any of the layout. Just changed the background image and played with the opacity of the text boxes...

Quite like that, gives it more of a customized look!

Possibly reduce the foreground opacity so the background is slightly less visible, but yeah liking it!!

I don't think the name is the best tbh, a bit plain, non discript, doesn't roll of the Tongue easy either.

And on each page, a different background image could be used to mix things up a little.

One thing i'd suggest is to buy the name areamotorsport.co.uk now!
If I was an arsehole I could have just bought it and then you'd have to go a different route.

.com has, but there's nothing there. Plus I reckon is for a company in a different country.

Done and bought

The image in the middle will be a slide show for new products with a link to the page for information that product, i really like that background with the lines above.

I think what you've done and those few tyre treads have made the world of difference!

Good lad. And I wouldn't worry about the fact that areamotorsport.com is taken. I've done a little research and it belongs to Eduardo Bernal Troyano. He also owns http://www.llantasreplicas.com/ and by the looks of things its based in Spain, so by no means direct competition.

I like it too. It adds a little depth to the design.
Now you're just gonna have to find some royalty free images you can use, or set up an arrangement with a photographer...

Takes a brave man to get into online car parts these days with the market already over saturated with bedroom traders.

Best of luck.

Thanks,

I would never enter in to selling normal stuff I have my own parts that i've made up on CAD and have some prototypes that have recieved good feedback. The majority of parts I'll be getting from America which again are very difficult to obtain in the Uk so hopefully there's a bit of niche . Well i'm sure there is.
