So it starts tonight when he turns up at mine, Got tonight, Tomorrow and sunday to convert his 1.6 sport to X18XE1. I've never done a XE1 before (Although done plenty of baby xe conversions) and I've got to cut and weld the oil pickup, file the 1.6 manifold etc

This is presuming the engine is good, don't knock or smoke, If it does it will be a rush fit of the 1.6 to get it finished for TVL....

So place your bets.

Wish I had more mates doing conversions, I'd love to help them do it, and learn more at same time!

You could finish it by 12 tonight... its that easy

6 Hour conversion max

I didnt see the modifications your planning, i suppose all goes down to weather you mess the pick up pipe up as they are hard to come by, well i think so.

Would it not be best to purge weld the pickup also?

Generation - You're welcome to come up and help/learn lol

Chris is being left in charge of taking pics, I guess its his best use. Brake master cylinder is being changed aswell, maybe the front brakes too.

With the pickup I have no choice so its gotta be done, It wasn't planned before last night.

LMAO, after that comment, I feel we will get along

This isn't the same master cylinder that's needed changing for about 2 years is it? I thought he sorted it

What's wrong with the X16 sump?

The reason for all this is to fit the X16 sump, The X18 sump is too big to fit the 1600 manifold/downpipe. So have to shorten the 1800 pickup pipe.
