Couldn't justify it anymore, especially when my insurance renewal came through at £1300 when it was £800 last year. I hardly use it and still manage to spend £80 a week in fuel, can't fit my snowboard in it, paranoid of it getting nicked or damaged and I'm in danger of getting banned every time I take it out. So I sold it!
Probably not to everyone's taste but Ive bought a 2010 Saab 9-3 1.9TTiD Aero Sportwagon in bright red. Car is an auto with a Hirsch remap and seems to drive ok? Car still has nearly 2 years Saab warranty left, one owner and while its definitely no M5 it seems to drive ok! Also managed to put over £10k back in the bank towards my house extension and I reckon I will save a fortune on fuel, insurance and maintenance.
Anyone had any experience with Saab's?

I like Saab's, just a Vectra underneath and they work fairly well.

Like the look of some Saabs but always been put off by the fact they are supposedly a Vectra underneath?

Will certainly save a fortune in fuel, was looking at them a while back and the mpg figures are crazy

Old man has a 2005 9-3 Aero.Lovely car.
Even though its just a Vectra underneath, its 10x the better car to drive.Feels alot more comfy and solid.

good choice. money in the bank is far better than a trophy on the drive.

Cheers all!
Yeah thats all it was really Ben, a trophy! Barely even used it! Bit gutted but the money will be better spent on the extension!
Ive always been a bit anti diesel really but after driving the Saab a little bit its quite good really. That low down torque Kind of pulls you along without you noticing, whereas the M5 needed to be revved to go anywhere which made driving it as a daily a bit tiresome.

It's not going to happen...
Nobody can step away from power once you've had it
I predict a new car around the corner.

I know I say it everytime but this is a recurring story on Corsa Sport, buy a nice new expensive car and then not be able to afford to run it.

He didn't say he can't afford it. He said he can't justify it. Different things.

Symantics!
Either way if there is the disposable income available and you like something enough you'd keep it..

Makes sense, bigger house is much better than a nicer car.

a car like that is just costing you money, no love or labour.
should buy an old classic and get stuck in, if you want a car to cherish.
otherwise its just money sitting there
