What's yours if you have cats/dogs etc? Are they allowed on the furniture? Banned from certain rooms? Not to be fed at the dining table etc? Do you know anyone with any strange rules or lack of them?

I dont let the cat on the work tops in the kitchen. Hate it when people let animals "finish" then dinner i.e. lick the plates

Dog has access to all rooms. Sleeps in her bed in our room.
Eats after we eat.
No feeding from table etc.
Allowed on furniture

Our dog has access to at rooms but only when were around e.g he can come upstairs if were up there.
We dont feed him food off our plates.
He can go on furniture but only if there is a throwover/blanket etc on the furniture.

My fish pretty much stay in my pond. I've tried to get them on the furniture but they don't seem to like it so I just leave them to it.

I have 3 cats who have the run of the downstairs, but theyre not allowed upstairs at all due to the amount of hair they leave everywhere! I eat all my meals just sat on the sofa, and the 2 female cats are fine, but my deaf kitten had no manners and constantly climbs on me trying to steal food off my plate. I usually end up throwing my food out as I get that sick! Won't feed him off the plate etc, and it doesn't matter how much I push him away, he doesn't get the hint!!

also, fill a spray bottle with water. if they won't back off when you're eating dinner, spray them. they hate it.
fill bottle with lemon juice if you want them to stop tearing up your carpet.

My cats don't destroy anything in the house, don't think they're exactly bored with all the toys and each others company. The two females are great, just shout at them and they behave, but it obviously doesn't work on the deaf boy will try the water spray!

IMO rules should be:
Not allowed on furniture/ worktops
Not allowed in bedrooms especially the beds
No food from the table
No barking when they feel like it ie out the window

Our 2 dogs have access to all rooms downstairs.
Not allowed on the furniture.
Not allowed upstairs.
Not allowed round the table while where eating, but let them eat the left overs if its suitable and then sometimes they lick the plates afterwards

I don't see anything wrong with feeding pets at the same time, but then again it's not uncommon for me to rest my sandwich on my horse's back if I'm grabbing lunch while doing something

i don't see the problem with letting a pet lick the plate after you've finished.
do you not wash your plates before eating from them again?

its discusting they shouldnt do it, they lick the balls etc then your gonna let them lick your plate doesnt matter if you wash it or not its still wrong

I'm sure if you have a lass she's licked your balls occasionally so do you stop her using cups and cutlery?

Our dogs were always working dogs and lived outside (in heated kennels) all year round. If they were ill or it was particularly cold, they were allowed in the utility room.
