my uncle works for DPD delivering stuff to all sorts of places. pay isn't bad, but not good either.
he drives a big lorry rather than a small van so not sure if they get paid more?
my cousin also was a courier getting paid to deliver parcels in his own car, got paid a small amount for every parcel.

Alot of work for not great money, expect to work long hours doing 80-120 drops per day (which is what is expected of you daily) get used to parking in shit places, have you drove a sprinter before? saying that, you have to be 25 at most well known companies otherwise they wont even give you an interview. Also expect to be working till 8-9 some nights if its taking you ages to do your round.

There is a website called shiply i think. People post up stuff that needs delivering and you bid on it. Whoever wins the bidding gets the job. You will need a big van though, as most of the stuff is like wardrobes etc.

Nope, most of them dont. I tried in once for a mate when he was on holiday when I had my Vectra, I had to pay my own fuel and I got 50p for every parcel I delivered. I spent twice as much in fuel in a day as I made

You quote for the job. E.g a wardrobe needs delivering, i say i will do it for £40. Then you say will do it for £38, then if your the lowest you get the job.

I'm a postie, usually do the vans at the moment and considered a delivery job, as royal mail are going to pot, but it's a lot of effort doing it for dhl, yodel etc... For not much money.
RM reckon you should be able to do 20 packets per hour, but they're all in a fairly small area, can imagine it'd be a pain doing it for a proper delivery company

Yeah, at the big companies like DPD, cityllink, uPs etc you have to be 25 for insurance purposes.
