Hi guys as some of you will know iv got 19" snowflakes on my vectra b also got FK coilovers so its sits fairly low, now i had it on the lift in work today doing the oil and noticed that the inside wall on all 4 tyres is completely ****** by this i mean cracked and mis shapen i.e. eggs, the tyres size are 215/35/19 which is an awkward size to get hold of etc and upon doing some research the reason they have done this is due to them being stretched so there is alot more pressure on the inner walls with road bumps and camber etc etc and also with the wall being so thin (35 profile) when they may look fully inflated (35 psi roughly) they may only have 10psi so i need to check more regularly, now im a bit pissed of as the tyres iv put on all have nearly 7mm of tread and are now just scrap
so i need to know before i fork out more money does anyone know what is the biggest tyre i can get away with on this car without major scrubbage im thinking if i can get away with a 225 /40 /19 itll give me a bit more width and stronger wall but will it scrub like mad?
or if this is not an option any reccomendations for whats a good strong tyre to cope with stretch etc etc or any cheap places for tyres brand new or part worns just any suggestions at all to solve the problem,
may even sell the wheels and put something else on but this is a final option

No, the logical and cheapest solution is to just raise the car enough so you can run normal tyres and not have issues!

Ph2 GSI wheels would look mega, wouldn't risk buying new tyres and it happening again tbh.

Not too sure but I would expect the snowflakes to be considerably more, even without tyres.

Get some adjustable top mounts will stop the car chewing through tyres.

adjustable top mounts wont help its not chewing them there wearing evenly its just due to stretched tyres low profiles and shit roads lol
ron what size snowflakes do you have? and what size tyres are you using and suspension etc etc? what bbs are you after?

225/35 or 215/35 are ok my dad said from experience on his old vectra, he said 40 profile will rub. He also just bought phase 2s for 150, really good tyres just a few cuffs. just to give u idea of how much they are

Why not raise the suspension, fit the new tyres, then adjust the suspension back down to suit.
Will still look more or less the same, just have a wee bit more tyre on show.

thank you for asking your dad sean appreciate that mate 225s seem to be a bit cheaper than 215 in the 35 profile i thought the 40s would scrubb lol
ahhh ron yours is a veccy c thats why you can get away with 235 as your arches are bigger than on my veccy b so even though your on a 35 profile because the tyres wider theres less strain on the wall im running 215 on a 8" wheel so allthough its not huge stretch its enough to do what its done hence why im trying to see how much wider i can get away with etc to minimise it happening again
going to try on a set of 19" bbs LMs tommorow myself mate wanted CH but cant find any in 5x110
