For starters was wanting to go to Donny over the weekend but couldn't due to problems with my car. Had to take it to Regal on Saturday and picked it up yesterday. He said when it came in it was running 90bhp!
Apparently this was due to 8 faults being found in the ECU. The reason I took it in was due to the air leak between the throttle bodies and the inlet manifold that I was talking about before. He had to take off all the throttle bodies clean them up etc.. then fit new gaskets. He fixed a couple of ECU faults but apparently the ECU is gonna have to be changed. This also means that my Superchip will become useless. It's still driving but it revs all over the place and the power is way down. Apparently this is gonna be the case until I get the ECU replaced. To make matters worse, I wasn'y expecting to pay anything as I was only taking it down there to be looked at for the throttle bodies as they are still under warranty. I ended up having to pay for 5 hours of labour whilst they fucked around with the throttle bodies.
Last night I also noticed that my clutch is making funny whirring noises, anyone know what this means? When I put my foot on the clutch it starts then.
Looks like it's time to scrap the ECU and the Superchip and get myself an MBE engine management system. All this is gonna cost me big bucks!

Your superchip was useless anyway
& to think you're gonna spend all this cash only to sell it for an Astra too

This is where I'm left with a decision though!
Hence the big
It really is in a state at the moment, so just don't know whether to sell the throttle bodies and other parts, then sell the car as standard or fix it. If I fix it then I might as well go all the way and keep it.
I really don't know what to do

If I were you Patrick I would just fix the problems with the Corsa, get it all running sweet even if it means spending £££s.
As you are changing your car in September you will need to have a working car for the next 5 months or so till you sell the Corsa.

Lee, I'm tempted.
Was thinking about selling the engine and the throttle bodies etc.. then just spending a bit extra for a 2.0 16v. Too many thoughts going through my head at the moment though! Not sure what to do!

You might as well just stick with what you've got, you've achieved a lot with your current engine so far, no point changing it because of a few small issues that are pissing you off? You know what's wrong with the car, get it sorted, then you will be happy again!

After mapping, I'm looking at £1000 for the engine management!
Hardly a small issue!

Depends if you have the £££s for it or not, if not, I would put your engine back to standard and sell all the modded bits from it, then sell/trade in your car for the new Astra in September. If you went down the 2.0 route you would be paying at least half of what you be paying for engine management to buy the engine, fit it, get driveshafts and any other shit you need for it.
