115bhp version and X16XE has a powerbox. Which would win?

Would I be right in saying they would be pretty much neck & neck? Cuz I had a play with one in my standard 1.6 sport with 4 people in mine and he didn't get away that quick at all

x16xe with a powerbox i think. 3 passengers would have slowed you down loads.

Thats what I was thinking. Which makes me think the 115bhp 2.0 8v is a completely pointless conversion..

two 2.0 8v's

C20NE 115 bhp (from cav GLS etc)
20SEH 130 bhp (Early cav SRis)

I wouldnt say that 2.0 8v is a pointless conversion, id have one over a 1.6 anyday. Both have there good and bad bits.

Edit, above post beat me to it

I don't rate the 2.0 8v's.

Good for turbo'ing or carbs, but as standard i wouldn't even consider 1.

The 2.0 8v is a strong engine than the X16XE and ya have more potential from a 2.0 iirc and they easyer to turbo also witch will give good gains

If you want more power, there's a reason people start with a LET.

Whilst different can be good, it can also be the opposite. I cant see why you would want to spend more money achieveing the same thing just to say you had esp when the end result will be difficult as well to obtain. This is tried and tested

The 2.0 would pull better due to more torque, 1.6 is all top end.

I'd still rather have the 1.6 over the 2.0 due to conversion costs.

My mate was going to fit the 115hp 8v to his Corsa but ended up selling it again as parts unfortunatly. Good reliable engines, but I'd probably prefer the sport engine for the sound and the way they rev.

130bhp 8v would be sweet though.

2.0 8v ain't that bad . Only reason I got mine was because it was cheap and basically went straight in. Easy to work on too!
