A while ago I made a website for a friend and her friend, we agreed £150 for the site with no official contract only a message on facebook. After I made the site, my friend paid £75 and her friend refused to pay the rest saying she was annoyed because the site wasnt done when she wanted and it lost her business. Although they roughly mentioned they wanted it done 'with the next 2 months' etc, there was no official date set in stone. Now ive taken the site down and said Il keep the money for the work ive done but they cant have a site until they pay the full amount, and this girl is threatening me saying she is seeking legal advice and saying shes taken people to court before and that I should be paying them their money back. Its £75 for christ sake, what legs does she have to stand on?

The thing is, the money was only agreed between me and my friend anyway. So surely even if a facebook message is legally binding, it doesnt even involve this poisonous witch.

Firstly, does she actually have any evidence of paying you £75? Secondly, you'll both struggle to prove anything since no terms are in place anywhere. Worst comes to worst, you give her a half finished website, which is what she's paid for.

Fact of the matter is, you've spent time on the job and your time costs. She isn't entitled to a bean back, unless of course there was a contract in place which specified certains completion terms, which doesn't exist anyway.

send her half the files, or if its done in CSS, send the HTML files and not the .CSS file.
Say she can have the rest when she coughs up.

It's been shown time and time again the best way to resolve this type of bullshit is raise your prices. The lower your prices / the lower the budget of the client, the more they count the pennies, act unprofessional or basically become a pain in the arse.
A private client who only wants to spend £150 is guaranteed to be a much fussier / bigger pain in the arse compared to a client who wants to spend £1500 ... and a client who wants to pay £15,000 will probably be quite happy to just leave it up to you to deliver the end result and not argue about anything.
Our company for example (Although dev, not really web design) charges about £1000 a day inc vat (although I don't see it ) - so butler's £150 - would've been like an hour or two of our time. There's no way you could reasonably meet a client, get what they want, design it, build it, test it, deliver it for an hour or two's worth of work. It's obscene.
Our minimum charge is £500 (1/2 day charge), so even if you just want to chat about potentially doing something - that'll be £500.
I understand though freelance is a completely different ball game, but I'd say £30 / hr is reasonable for butler's time. The fact they only want to pay £75 - means they only want to pay for 2-3 hours worth of his time, which is ridiculous.

A contract doesn't have to be on paper. It can be oral.
