Right, looks like I'll be getting shut of this soon. Just after opinions of how is best to sell it.

I have my bbs reps on at the minute, they have corroded a bit so I had the lips painted instead of polished. They look ok but not perfect, however I could do to take the tyres from these for the new car.

So I have the standard 17" wheels that I could put on but they need a set of tyres also..

Then suspension, it's on coil overs which have been on since I got it so at least 5 years... But I have all the standard shit in the garage.

Basically do people think its best going totally standard for a wider market? It's fairly well looked after but it is 10 years old so bodywork etc is showing its age so I'll have to go on the cheap side I'd imagine. I know modifications don't add value etc... Just looking for opinions really.

A lot of these seem to be modified so i wouldnt say it was as bad. However returning to standard if you have the bits is deffo the best option.

Standard, definitely.

How is the bodywork showing it's age?

Just stonechips mainly, it's straight other than that and does clean up well.

I'm thinking standard is best but my dad doesn't seem to think its worth the time putting the bits back on.

you will easily flog those e38 bits on e38 so i would put it back to standard, sceneboys will like it because its an untouched one polite owner car and everyone else wont be put off by it being modified.

Not worth the time? It's what, 2 hours work?

You'll get more for the car and the bits will sell elsewhere.

Someone looking for an S3 would rather a standard model (well, I would...)

That's my thinking robin.. When I was looking for it I wanted as standard as possible. In the end settled for one just on coilovers but was happy with that.

Think standard is best way to go..

Getting a golf next, dads just got a 2.0 tdi one in through work with xenons, nav, leather etc so gona be sensible and get that.

Modifications do add value if they're modifications that they want/approve of...

Just put it to standard, you have all the bits. Then you can sell the mods that way. If I'd have sold my Mazda modified I'd have maybe got 1k more and it would have taken longer to sell, as it was I sold the car within a week & the modified bits went quickly took & I made 3k more than I would have...

Selling a car with no soul and buying another with even less so... well done Joe

JK my advice is mint it up good and proper! Get the chips sprayed on the cheap and refurb the rims properly. S3's can be proper rough with mileage under there belts and if yours is in better nik than the rest then it will sell! Simple really, always worked with all my sales.
