Depends entirely on the budget. Are you a girl? If so, the name Roxy on a girl is hot. On a guy, not so much.

They need to be in PL.

Something that you don't mind getting banged up I'd say, soemthing like a 1.0 corsa or soemthing.

Edit: infact buy my 107 off me: 1.0L/Power steering/electric windows all back to standard. 5 door.

The fact that I'm a girl has nothing to do with it lol and yes I know those lads, I used to go out with lawton. However all that aside I generally just want some advice, I'm thinking corsa as I feel comfortable in them, are the newer ones or the older ones cheaper to insure?

newer ones might be slightly more just because of it being worth more.

whats your budget?

1 litre 12 valver corsa b. cheapest to run, cheapest to insure. not as underpowered as people think. gets you from a-b, will do 90 - 110 if you screw it. although most are starting to fall apart. depends if you can find a good one.
anything newer and in budget, an early Corsa C or Mk5 polo

oil leaks. a clean looking engine is probably a leaky one in disguise. service history, check under the boot carpet for signs of rust. check all the tyres have decent tread left and that everything generally works.

110?!?! What have you screwed it to!!

If your budget allows I'd get a C over a B. Nicer inside and less chance of rust.
