Im looking at buying a daily come January, but want something comfy. I find most small cars (Clio, Fiesta, Ibiza, etc) not that comfy, this may just be the seats in them though.
I wouldn't mind something bigger too.
My main criteria are its got to be comfy, diesel and around 1k
Ideas? I have been looking at Alfa 156 2.4 diesels

Yeah diesel, Im trying to stay away from merc/bmw/etc as its just a daily, I don't want to be shelling out loads on parts prices. Afterall the 5 series ect were 30-40k cars new

Wouldn't get an alfa if you don't want to shell out on parts.

Comfier cars have longer wheel bases and are wider. Then you need something without sports suspension and something with power so you dont have to have a workout to drive it.
Mercedes C class (W200) is a good shout. I had a C240 Elegance which was hugely comfy. Designed for big fat lazy bavarians.
They rust and are expensive to service, but built like tanks and have amazing brakes.

POV spec?
My SRi wasn't uncomfy but there are certainly comfier cars out there. Can imagine non sports damping would have been softer.

Can he get that for a grand?
Won't be as comfy as something older and softer with higher profile tyres outside of that.

Mine is an S-line and is supposedly firm but feels soft and comfy to me. But then my previous car was rock hard so anything would feel soft in comparison.

MK1 Leon Cupra TDi, very comfy, economical, pretty decent looking and mapped can be quick. A highish miler can be picked up for about a grand.

Late spec SXi so not POV spec, SRi spec but without the badges.
To me, it was comfy and felt like it was well built. Soaked up speed bumps and never made me feel uncomfortable driving it. Was just a nice place to be.
