Ok so here's the deal. A hypothetical situation, you have £20k for the purchase of a car. Can be new or used. You have a car already which is remotely practical so unless you love horses or are Chloe you won't need 20 seats.
So this car can be either your daily hack or weekend special?
Here is my contenders:
Toss up between three:
Always wanted one of these since I saw Teenagent. Remarkably affordable too. £18k will get you a good one, insurance is cheaper than my M3 servicing and tyres are similar.
Contender is one of these, much more expensive to run as it will need a new engine every 5minutes, but it's a TVR.
Outside contender because I can't find one for £20k won't be long though Much more practical and reliable but cost more than the Lotus to run:
What would you choose?

Loads of choice, you would need to really love the Lotus or TVR to have that much tied up in one.

Apart from the awesome DCI I would got for the TVR, looks great and they sound awesome, it will be a lot of fun, when it works !
My own 20k I would get a R34 GT-R (Only just) Or an NSX.

You think?
Super car for less than a fully spec ed up Corsa Vxr or Clio200? Minimal depreciation?

I'd have the TVR outta them three since I've been out in my uncles one and loved it but if I had £20k spare, I'd be buying me a blue mica Skyline R34 GTR.

£20k for the fun car and not the practical one for me would either be something to replace the Astra or a bonkers track car.
RS4 cab in Avus blue
Monaro although that would mean I don't have a convertible available and they're not that expensive any more anyway.
Difficult one, £20k for me is loads of cars not one and I'd be spending money on the other car as well unless it was already a Disco 3.
Truth be told I don't aspire to much these days

If I had £20k right now I'd buy one of these in a second. I'm hoping to have one next year if all goes to plan (which it probably won't lol)

A friend has a TVR Cerbera 4.2 V8. Dosn't use it much, and when he does, 7 times outta 10 something breaks. Worst was when the crank shattered. Done some serious damage.
That aside, its a fookin rocket and sounds immense with the de-cats. Shoots flames for fun.
Visibilty inside is shocking though, the windscreen is tiny.
Anyhow, for 20k i would probably also pick something lairy like a TVR or a VXR8.

hard to choose tbh Jambo.
20k is a lot of wedge for a motor, so would have to be something special, that you dont see on the road too often.
this caught my eye
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-996-C4S-6-speed-manual-/220906221220?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item336f096ea4#ht_500wt_1287
always loved the 996's.
but also this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-Aston-Martin-DB7-5-9-Auto-Vantage-Coupe-/400235331346?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item5d2fe27f12#ht_1402wt_1270
i mean its an aston!!
and then there is this, my personal dream car, i would give my left arm for one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-NSX-Coupe-V6-/250919929416?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a6bfe4648#ht_1122wt_1270
if its good enough for Senna, its good enough for me.
