Im hopefully selling my 207 GT on friday, and am looking for a bigger car, for the missus to use mainly so that its easier with the little boy now.

Ive found a Vectra 1.9 CDTI SRI (sat nav) for a good price, on a 2005 05 plate. Has leather and done about 87k

Just curious as to wether anyone has experience with them, or know of any known/common problems to look out for?

Had one, quite nice to drive. Does the job. Mine needed a new alternator but think that was about it mechanically.

Alot of stuff im reading seems to say they are fairly reliable.

EGR valve looks easy enough to get to/clean out/replace etc

Looks alot of car for the money, cruise control and many other features.

Main dealer got it up for 4k, will take 3k if i dont have any warranty/ take it sold as seen etc.

It looks immaculate in the numerous pictures ive seen. going to look at it at the weekend.

Price seems about right for the age and that from what ive seen around

Sounds a good price for a dealer. Is it the 120 or 150?

Friend of mine had a 55 plate 120 nav he paid £2800 with 70k on.

Quite shocked how much insurance is on this.

Currently paying £320 fo both of us on a 56 plate 207gt, worth about 5k.

Everywhere seems to want £550+ for this

few main problems, dual mass flywheel, egr valves, swirl flaps, if you look down the gap between the camcover and the inlet manifold you should see a rod, it can fall off. Not too bad apart from those bits

No probs with my Vectra really aside from it not being diesel. Not sure if it's due to it being the 3.2 V6 or just Vectras but my insurance wasn't as cheap as I'd hoped.

They have an issue with the swirl flps and the rod breaking off which means a complete new inlet manifold and actuator. About £850 all in at vauxhall.

Mines gone on my Astra.

They dont break up though, thats BMW's.

EGR's are an issue, but just take them ofo and split it open and a good clean with carb cleaner ever 10k, whilst there give the boost pressure sensor a clean as they can become clogged up.

R.E Vectra insurance.

I went from a 2.2 16v SRi Mk4 Astra to a 2.2 16v Direct Vectra SXi and it was cheaper to insure than the Astra. And the Vectra had more BHP.

Gearbox's aren't an issue on the Vectra like they are on the Astra's etc. They use the F40 instead of the M32.
