Just at the end of last year after alot of thinking I decided to take the plunge and went and enquired about a mortgage, got an offer sorted out and put down a plot deposit on a new development in my town.
Estimated completion date is 25th of May, and will be a 3 bedroom detached with garage. Kitchen, living room/dining area with patio doors out onto patio / back garden. Ensuite with master bedroom, upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room.
Heres one of the first pictures I took of the plot which was 3 weeks ago :
Heres how it looked 1 week ago :
And heres how it will look (neighbours house which has just been finished) :

Looks like a nice, up-market, expensive design and plot. I really like the style, mix between old and new.

Also, in the background is phase 2 of the development. Phase 2 is more or less complete, and out the front of my house so at my front door is a residential area and large patch of grass rather than a muddy mess
One of the reasons I went for the house, as there is my neighbours and mine facing forward, and then at the back of us is the same 2 plots facing the opposite way into the muddy mess

must be so cool being able to see the progress of your house being built only thing i'd be worried about is things that weren't on the original plan such as other houses close to you/overlooking your garden.
still, that finished property looks amazing, love the bare blockwork on the edges also.

Currently offshore just now, itching to get home and see the progress, no matter how small. I was excited when I went round and saw all the scaffold up
There is an outlined plan, as looking at the development plan you can see which style of house is on the plot next to you. Once you see what style you would like, there is only certain plots available if you know what I mean? On my street I think there is only 2 plots left, with 3 houses already built so isnt a long street. Iv nothing out the front apart from a large patch of grass which on the plans is going to be a play park at some point. Its a really nice neighbourhood so hoping that kids wont be too much of a problem there.

For anyone interested here is a site map
http://www.springfield.co.uk/viewplan.php?development_id=9
If you look opposite the proposed playpark Im plot 112. You can see where the 2nd phase of the development is as none of the houses are sold

Aye its the window just after the first few steps on the stairs. Its set pretty high aswell if I remember right from when I got a sneak peak into the house before it was completed and handed over to the owner

Play park could be a problem. I remember we used to terrorise the people who stayed beside them. Looks good otherwise.

Everytime Iv been in the area its been reasonably quiet, I know / recognise quite a few of the people who have houses there and dont think theres many kids in the area (yet)
I'll just give as good as I get when it comes to terrorising

Mum was over on Sunday and took a pic and emailed it to me, the kit is now up and it has sides and half a roof. Also heard that there is doors and windows round the back aswell.
Will get pics up tomorrow

Heres the latest pic from 3 weeks ago :
Joiners were in last week to fit the kitchen and sanitary ware (as they called it, toilets and sinks to me and you!)
Im back offshore but according to my Mum last week the guttering etc was going on outside. All on schedule for handing over to me on the 20th of May.
Got a bed sorted last time home and all the stuff for the kitchen so a few things I wont have to worry about when Im home.
Going to finalise flooring when I get home from offshore next week as thats the next main thing I need to get organised so I can get my sofa and bed in when their delivered in June.

Cheers
There hadn't been a drop of rain until a few weeks ago either so thats helped and least its all went up dry. There isnt any other houses getting built in the development just now so I presume all focus has been on mine which is good.
Found out aswell the painter is just a local self employed guy who does their private houses so least I know it should be a good job rather than springfields own painters. He said they use their own painters for their low cost housing
