Built an MK Indy R1 a few years back, cost us about £6k IIRC. Good fun building it but the novelty of driving one on the road soon wears off. Great as a track car tho!!

Would love to build a Stuart Taylor Phoenix one day to race in the 750mc RGB series. Not sure who manufactures the kit anymore, but they seem quite competitive looking at the results.

Yep. That will include everything tho.
Everything is brand new, engine, the lot. Paint is going to be over £1k for example. It all adds up.
Also the kit is expensive anyway, and Birkin's are made in South Africa, and theres no longer a UK agent so import costs on top too.
But tbh, not knocking Locosts, Tigers, MK's, Robin Hoods etc but when you look at the Birkin its so much better engineered (better than Caterham too IMO). Its just got a quality feel to everything. But you get what you pay for, and for the money the budget ones are great VFM.

Just come across one I'm quite interested in, do any of you have an experience with bike powered ones?
What they like to drive can imagine they would be quite fun? Purely going to be a weekend toy are they as drivable and quick as say a 2.0 ford powered one?

Yeah they look good, i just cant decide between the pro's & con's of a car engine eg ford durateq as these seem the most popular or a bike powered one

Reverse is normally a problem with bikes unless you buy a reverse box

If there all q plated and registered I'm assuming they will have this done as to pass they have to have reverse no?
Found a Fire Blade powered one I'm going to go and look at, see what there like i have never really looked around one properly

They'll either go on an age plate based on the age of the donor or a new plate if you use new bits.
Only reason it would go on a Q is if you didn't have evidence of where the bits came from.
