Running lean would cause the heat. If that's the case it could be AFM. Mine went once and caused it to run lean over 3500 revs. They really see useless on those engines.

They're black because of the carbon soot from overfuelling, not heat

It could just be that they weren't sparking properly, faulty lead/coil/dizzy/plug.

just realised its not just the white insulation gone
crank it over with no plugs as i said before try to see if there is much shit in there, the ground parts will make a mess of the cylinder ect, lets hope it all came out exhaust

I think the colour of the plug is the very least of your problem . Ive never seen a plug fail like that .Surely it must of run on 3 before second plug , can't imagine them going together
