Are these as good as they are made out to be?
Could really do with a new beard trimmer.

I'm sure Whitties got one that he swears by iirc.
Do they have a 'clean shave' function or is .4 the lowest?

I'd like to know this also, not sure how short .4 actually is. I use my current one without an attachment, and it's 1 day shadow.

If the easycut is anything to go by it'll be shit, really fancied one too. Bought the easycut and it's the biggest piece of shit on the planet.

Hopefully somebody can answer.
I have to be clean shaven everyday for work and I always wet shave which is time consuming and a pain imo.

Yeah I read that but I know some you can take the lowest grade off and get a clean shave.

Yeah I just use my clippers too on the same setting. For me it's a bit too low, but if I stick on the next clip up, it's just too long to work right. I need somewhere in between.

I've got the older version, works quite well but a pain around the chin area
Battery on the old one is shocking, going to buy one of these now there cheap anyway.

I have one, it's alright. I trim on the longest setting though so not sure how short .4 is. Hard to do the neck, chin and top lip with it though but I'd imagine it's a struggle with anything.

Get a decent Remington
edit; just had a quick look, 0.4 seems to be the norm for the shortest setting

My itrim makes me patchy as fuck and the bloody thing don't hold any charge, has to be constantly plugged in.
I just use some standard clippers now with no guard.

I read the old ones are shite, the one in the link is the newest version, which is meant to be ok now.

I've had that exact same babyliss since July, Nath. It's brilliant, no shaving rash and I don't have any problems with the battery or cutting length or patchiness like I've heard other people complain about on previous models. I've only bothered to clean shave once since I got it.
Usually have it on 1.0-1.2mm. On 0.4mm it's a fairly close shave so if I need a closer shave to look smarter but can't be arsed using my shaver I just put it on that
Jakey - the 0.4mm won't be a close enough shave if you are a supposed to be clean shaven for work, it's close enough for what I want but it's not a clean shave.
