Been getting bad hacks/splits on my thumbs on fingers for months now, gets to the almost healed stage then boom back to square one.
I have eczema, but work as a mechanic so my hands are sore a lot of the time.
I wear gloves when working (Non latex, they make me blotchy)
Tried - Prescribed cream courses, barrier cream (made worse), hydrocortizone.
Was getting a lot better lately then boom felt 2 appearing this evening.
Getting pissed off with it, its not work related as i've been on the tools for years.
Doctors are totaly useless.

I'm using ZEROBASE it's called from the doctors best stuff they have given me yet providing you use it twice a day as told. My hand's split and bleed from the dry skin but this works well so far, i've tried the ones you mentioned to but didn't get on. This comes in a massive plunger tub might be worth a try although iv'e just this 2nd dropped mine upside down on the floor and now my feet are covered in it

Don't want to put a downer on it mate but I think you'll be lucky to ever sort it. My dad gets them as bad as you've described and has been to see specialists in the past. I also get them but nowhere near as bad. It can be a fucking nightmare I know so hope you have more success. I would demand that your gp refers you to a specialist.

I have the same, I got a cream from a polish friend and never looked back- you can get it on prescription over here now called elecome cream. I'll get the active ingredient name when I get home but when my dermatitis is really bad, I use it once or twice and almost overnight its clearing up

I get this, don't know what causes it at all. Mines on my knuckles, they go really dry then split and bleed. Sometimes I can't even touch it.

i get them mega, some of them are a good 2mm deep when theyve been open a few days. the only way to sort it out is to literally moisturise every half hour or hour which is a pain in the arse

I have the same problem. I use my sisters Dermovate Ointment and it heals in rapid time.
Got to be careful with this cream as it's steriod and thins your skin if used too often. I is the bollocks though!

Ive had eczema since i was tiny, now know im stuvk with it, rather than try and get rid of it i'm just trying to manage it best i can.
Best thing i've found is the white vasaline tube of cream, intensive repair, the rest irritate my skin, i put a fair dollop on, rub in then put cotton gloves on (pharmacy in asda sell them £1 a pair), then the latex gloves.
Hands stink once i take them off but a quick wash and dry then more cream its ok.
Ive had to change the stuff i wash clothes with, dishes with, and be careful with what i use on my skin full stop. Cant use normal soap, have random flare ups. I was bullied at school because of it, and i hate being able to feel dry skin on my 9mth old sons skin, i would di anything for him not to have it, was a depressing time for me.

Dermovate and betnovate steroid creams have never worked for long with me, got Eumovate now and that barely works-seriously this elcome stuff is unlike any of the hundreds of both prescription and none prescription things I've tried. Cutting out milk and dairy when it's really bad seems to help as does sea/salt water soaks but not found anything like this elcome-not home until Friday but I'll get the info then

Elocon is the trade name.
Momentasone furoate is the active ingredient.
I had that and Hydrocortisone because I wasn't allowed Elocon on the face.
Elocon is good stuff though, can clear stuff up overnight. Will sting like a bitch on open skin though.
