Hi all,

This is probably obvious to a lot of you but just tried to fit a set of GAZ coilovers to my Corsa B and they are fouling the body (inner arch).

Question is, is this normal and do I just buff back the body work to accommodate the spring?

Thanks in advance.

C20VX.

i know with some gaz sets you have to turret the arches which involves cutting a section out and welding in a half circle shaped bit to allow the wider strut in

I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up. It looks like if I were to buff away at the body a little the spring would be free but didn't think you'd have to do that.

I had to bash mine with a hammer, and I know a few other people that have done the same

Alright guys,

Ye pretty hacked off. Not too keen on hitting with a hammer. I'll try buffing back the touching part of the body.

Cheers for the help.

I had the exact same problem on both sides with mine

I used a bit of metal bar and a lump hammer to bash them in. Got about 5mm clearance now

Thanks guys for the advice.

Removed rear coilovers and using a tool used on the press, wrapped it in a cloths and using a hammer shaped the inner arch. Didn't really need that much hitting to allow coilover to sit neatly.

My gaz ones do the same on the rear gonna knock my arch in when it warms up as the spring vibrates when going over rough roads.I find it very annoying.

Car looks very smart & clean by the way

Seem to be alot of annoying niggles when fitting damper/spring combined.
