You wouldn't raise questions as to why your car that just got a clean bill of health from a main dealer burst into flames?

I'd be surprised is a main dealer even bothered looking it over when it went in.

Shame but the attitude of most of the people in that thread stinks. So glad I don't have to sell things to Americans or Canadians.

So you want to buy a car and get it professionally inspected from the dealer who original made the vehicle, they say it's fine and you buy it based partly apon their word as a reputable company and it catches on fire a few hours later and you are saying you wouldn't bother to try and get compenstation from them ?
I still see it as buy a second hard car and you take the risk but if his paid Honda which I guess he had to, to inspect the vehicle then I think his got a right to get some compenstation as something they said was fine later wasn't but as we don't know the cause, who knows !

No, I'd be insured for fire and my breakdown cover would take care of the return journey, I wouldn't need to sue anyone.
The Honda garage shouldn't even have agreed to look at it, its not a standard car. They couldn't check things they're not familiar with. I would hope they've done a list of what they did and didn't check, and the conversion is on the latter.

Common sense would suggest he probably has some comeback, that doesnt need to be pointed out with shouts of lawsuits and probably trying to claim for far more than what hes been affected, Insurance should cover the losses

why? My insurance and breakdown cover the cost to get me home wherever I am, whether that be UK or abroad so why not in this case?
